The center is staffed by friendly and knowledgeable health care providers who are committed to providing the best healthcare services available and educating the public about research and the scientific process.
ECRMC’s Research Center carefully selects research studies that show a direct benefit to the residents of Imperial Valley, undergoing a strenuous review process by an interdisciplinary team of medical and healthcare providers, hospital leadership and research scientists.
Our goal is to improve healthcare outcomes and prevent future illness for our population in Imperial Valley and other rural-border communities.

The Research Center opened in September 2020 to bring opportunities to improve the health and wellness of Imperial Valley community through quality clinical research. Our vision is to successfully conduct clinical research trials with high integrity and exceptional quality. The ECRMC Research Team is dedicated to making a difference in our community. Clinical Research Team
Mersedes Martinez RN, MBA, BSN, PHN is the nurse leader overseeing clinical research operations at El Centro Regional Medical Center. She is the presiding chair of ECRMC's Multidisciplinary Research Council.
