Wound Care
State-of-the-Art Care from El Centro Regional Medical Center
A wound that does not heal or becomes infected can lead to serious health complications. If you were injured and your wound has not healed for 30 days or more, you have what is considered a chronic wound and should seek further treatment to promote healing.
At the Wound Healing Center of Imperial Valley, we are equipped with various modern technologies and a highly qualified medical team to help patients heal from chronic wounds. This El Centro Regional Medical Center facility has not only helped countless patients throughout Imperial Valley but was also recognized for a 2009 Front Runners Award from National Healing—a U.S. industry authority on clinical wound center standards. For more information on this wound center and its available treatments and appointments, contact the facility.
Do I Need a Wound Specialist?
If you are suffering from a non-healing wound that is getting more painful, changing color, or emitting a foul odor, you should immediately speak with your primary care physician. Our staff at the Wound Healing Center of Imperial Valley will collaborate with your primary care doctor to devise a treatment plan that addresses both your wound and any other contributing medical concerns.
Check your wound regularly for signs of infection or lack of oxygen, such as:
- Puss leaking from the wound
- Blue or dark discoloration around the wound
- Redness and/or swelling around the wound
- An unusual odor coming from the wound
- The pain has not decreased
- The wound is unusually warm or feels warm to the touch
