ECRMC BOARD OF TRUSTEES, THE CITY OF EL CENTRO AND ECRMC HOSPITAL LEADERSHIP OFFERS AN UPDATE RELATED TO HOSPITAL SERVICES

EL CENTRO, CA –January 26, 2023- The El Centro Regional Medical Center Board (ECRMC) Members, the City of El Centro, and El Centro Regional Medical Center hospital leadership held a joint news conference this morning to share updated information related to hospital services, clarify information, and respond to questions related to the hospital.

Tomas Oliva, President of the Board of Directors for El Centro Regional Medical Center, stated, “I want our community to know that El Centro Regional Medical Center is open. Our emergency room is open to provide medical services to our community. We are working closely with our hospital administration and local healthcare providers. We will continue to provide quality healthcare services to our community.” Mr. Oliva reiterated the importance of community unity as the future of healthcare services is discussed in the community.

Suzanne Martinez, Chief Nursing Officer, for the hospital shared information about the availability of the hospital’s medical and emergency services and addressed the misinformation circulating in the community. She shared, “The hospital’s Emergency Department continues to be open 24/7 with Board-certified Physicians, and the staff is ready to respond to any emergency medical need, including maternal and pediatric emergencies.” She added that although a notice for termination of base hospital services was submitted to the County in December, the ECRMC board rescinded the notice earlier this week to ensure that emergency services continue. There have been several meetings with the Imperial County EMS Agency, Pioneers Memorial Healthcare District, and other first-response stakeholders regarding what the base hospital service will look like in Imperial County moving forward and what is best for the community as a whole.

Rosanna Lugo, Marketing Director for the hospital, discussed the importance of accessing reliable sources for information. She encouraged community members to visit the official websites and social media for El Centro Regional Medical Center, Pioneers Memorial Healthcare District, and the City of El Centro to avoid the spread of erroneous or inaccurate information. She also shared information on how often and when updated information will be made available by ECRMC.

EL CENTRO, CA – 26 de enero del 2023- Miembros de la Junta Directiva del hospital El Centro Regional Medical Center (ECRMC por sus siglas en ingles), la Ciudad de El Centro y el liderazgo del hospital ofrecieron una conferencia de prensa en conjunto esta mañana con el fin de compartir información actualizada relacionada a los servicios hospitalarios, esclarecer información relevante y responder a preguntas relacionadas al hospital.

Tomas Oliva, Presidente de la Junta Directiva de El Centro Regional Medical Center comento, “Es importante comunicarle a nuestra comunidad que el hospital El Centro Regional Medical Center está abierto. La sala de emergencia está abierta para ofrecer servicios médicos a nuestra comunidad. Estamos trabajando cercanamente con nuestra administración hospitalaria y los proveedores de cuidado médico para asegurar que se ofrezcan servicios de salud en nuestra comunidad.” El Sr. Oliva reitero la importancia de mantener la unidad conforme se trata el tema de servicios de cuidado de salud en la comunidad.

Suzanne Martinez, Oficial de Enfermeria en Jefe del hospital compartió información referente a la disponibilidad de servicios médicos y de emergencias y hablo de la circulación de información incorrecta en la comunidad. Dijo, “La sala de emergencia del hospital continua abierto las 24 horas 7 días de la semana con médicos titulados y certificados y el personal se encuentra listo para responder a cualquier necesidad médica de emergencia, incluyendo emergencias maternales y pediátricas.” Agrego que a pesar de que una carta de terminación de los servicios de hospital base fue entregada al Condado en diciembre, la carta se anuló esta semana para asegurar la continuación de los servicios de emergencias continúan. Se han convocado varias reuniones con la Agencia de Servicios de Emergencias del Condado Imperial, el hospital Pioneers Memorial Healthcare District y otras partes interesadas de primeras respuestas para tratar el tema del hospital base y como se ofrecerá el servicio en el Condado de Imperial en el futuro y que opción será mejor para la comunidad en su totalidad.

Le pidió a la comunidad visitar las páginas digitales y plataformas sociales oficiales El Centro Regional Medical Center, Pioneers Memorial Healthcare District, y la Ciudad de El Centro para evitar la propagación de información incorrecta. También compartió información sobre qué tan seguido y donde estará disponible la información oficial de ECRMC.
